The original films followed two high level undercover insiders, one within the Hong Kong police force and the other in the Triad gangs, each working for the other side. Skipping Christmas: "Dan Aykroyd has joined the cast of Revolution Studios' comedy which studio topper Joe Roth will direct. In the adaptation of the John Grisham bestseller, Tim Allen plays Luther Krank, who decides to skip Christmas and its trappings and go on a vacation with his wife instead. Aykroyd will play Vic Frohmeyer, the Kranks' busybody neighbor who organizes the street's holiday decorations every year and is outraged when he learns of Luther's plan to skip Christmas..." The Constant Gardener: "Rachel Weisz has landed the female lead opposite Ralph Fiennes in this adaptation of the John le Carre novel for Focus Features. Oscar-nominated helmer Fernando Meirelles ("City of God") directs, with shooting to begin in May. Weisz will play the feisty wife to Fiennes' complacent British diplomat who must act when she's found dead in the jungle after investigating a company testing out a TB remedy on innocent Africans..." Bratz: "20th Century Fox has struck a deal with MGA Entertainment to develop and produce a live-action/animated feature film based on MGA's popular Bratz fashion dolls.
