  • Small Screen Endings & Beginnings
    By Garth FranklinFriday, Jan. 16, 2004 10:35PM
Turning our eye towards the small screen now, the TV world has had quite a bit of news in the last few days that's worth a glance:

    "Frasier"
The sitcom is finally coming to an end and 'Underwear' has some spoiler details on how things will end: "In an episode to air during Feb sweeps(taped last night), Fraiser's dad will propose to Wendy Malick's character and the series finale with be a hour special in which they will be wedded. Frasier's character will meet a woman at the wedding with whom he will flirt and the series with end with him interested in her and them arranging their first date.

Of course this final ending for Fraiser remains in the air - but for now that's what the writers are going toward. They left it open like that in the intial season bible because they were hoping to extend the series' life another season".

    "Karen Sisco"
The much-hyped, celebrity-filled but quickly pulled Miami-set crims show in which Carla Gugino plays an Elmore Leonard-created US Marshal heroinne was yanked off air after four episodes, but unlike some other series - this one seems to be getting a reprise.

Filmjerk reports that the production has been given the budget to make four more episodes to prove to the ABC network that this show is worth saving. Shooting starts again next week with the episode "The Middle of Something" in which an old flame of hers returns and is after the same man she is pursuing.

    DVD Releases
For those wondering when some of their old favourite shows might be coming to DVD, a chat transcript at The Digital Bits with Fox's Peter Staddon answers some of those questions.

Disc sets are expected later this year for "Space: Above and Beyond", "Remington Steele", "Millenium", "Harsh Realm", "Two Guys and a Girl", "Arrested Development", "Dharma & Greg" and "Doggie Howser, M.D.".

Show's unlikely to hit disc anytime soon, mostly due to music clearance issues include: "Ally McBeal", "The Pretender", "Boston Public", "The Wonder Years", "Batman", "Green Hornet" and "The Lone Gunmen"

Finally, a choose the cover art survey is up for the first season of "Party of Five".

Thanks to 'Edward', 'Amy' & 'Wilson'
