In an interview with me and several other journos yesterday, producer David Heyman revealed that scribe Michael Goldenberg ("Contact", "Peter Pan") has been hired to pen the script adaptation of J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix", the fifth book in the best-selling series.

This marks a departure for the series as Steve Kloves ("The Fabulous Baker Boys") has penned all four previous adaptations including the currently filming "Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire" shooting at Leavesden Studios.

The departure is amicable though, Kloves is anxious to get back into directing and is already getting to work on adapting Mark Haddon's loved novel "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" that Heyman is helping to produce.

Like with Kloves, Goldenberg will work alongside Heyman on the script which will have to receive final approval by J.K. Rowling herself. Right now things aren't locked in yet with dates though the loose aim seems to be an early start of 2006 production start on 'Phoenix' with a potential Summer 2007 release date.
