IGN reports that Danny R. McBride has joined Will Ferrell's big screen "Land of the Lost" adaptation for Universal Pictures.
Based on the 1974-77 television series of the same name, the story revolves around a disgraced paleontologist, his assistant and a macho tour guide who find themselves in a strange world inhabited by dinosaurs, monkey people and reptilian Sleestaks.
McBride has been keeping busy in recent months, starring in five major comedies inluding the already released "Hot Rod" and "The Heartbreak" along with the upcoming "Drillbit Taylor," "The Pineapple Express" and "Tropic Thunder." The Brad Silberling-directed adventure-comedy opens in July 2009.
