The White Countess: "Andre Morgan has signed on as exec producer for Merchant Ivory's production of "The White Countess." Pic, which starts production September 25, is being directed by James Ivory and will star Ralph Fiennes, Vanessa Redgrave and Natasha Richardson. "Countess" will use Ruddy Morgan's offices in Shanghai throughout the shoot and has hired cinematographer Chris Doyle to join the crew. Sony Pictures Classics will release pic in North America, Mexico and Australia..." (more info). Tidelands: "Jeff Bridges will join the cast of Terry Gilliam's "Tideland," the director said MonWednesday at a press conference at the Toronto Intl. Film Festival. Pic follows a gang of police cadets selected by the DEA to bust narcotics peddlers at Venice Beach. Heckled: "In a pre-emptive purchase, New Line Cinema has scored with "Heckled," picking up the comedy script from the writing team of Jeremy Haft and Ed Gonzalez. The revenge tale centers on a heckler who causes an NBA superstar to get suspended only to find his own life in chaos when the roles are reversed and the heckler becomes the heckled. She has signed on for a part on the big screen in 20th Century Fox's "Fantastic Four" and inking a deal for an arc on the WB Network's "One Tree Hill".
