The Latest on Superman

By Garth Franklin Tuesday September 14th 2004 04:39PM

Superman-V has been busy digging up the very latest on the production with help from trusted sources and today they've got quite a few bits of good goss.

<strong>The Script &amp; Story </strong>

"The first draft of the screenplay has been completed and is currently titled 'SUPERMAN'. It is close to 140 pages long. The story, as we understand it, goes way back to the roots of the Man of Steel - including his birth planet, Krypton. Two villains are in the movie; Lex Luthor and another, whose identity is unknown at this point. We understand that both are formidable opponents.

A great fan favourite,&nbsp;the one and only John Corben, will feature in the movie, but&nbsp; that doesn't&nbsp;mean his&nbsp;bad-ass alter-ego Metallo will. More familar names from the comic books&nbsp;also make&nbsp; appearances. We have no definite word yet on who these are. The&nbsp;greenlight on the script is expected&nbsp;in&nbsp;the next month&quot;.

  <strong>Casting</strong>

"It appears that Singer is keeping his options open in case he finds an outstanding unknown during the still ongoing search. Hundreds of actors from around the world have already auditioned for the part, in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand"

  <strong>Location</strong>

'The Peak' apartments building in Haymarket, Sydney is rumoured to be a potential stand in for the Daily Planet building.

Thanks to 'Robert'.
