Despite retiring Borat and Ali G, Sacha Baron Cohen is keeping busy as its just been revealed that he will play Abbie Hoffman in the upcoming drama "The Trial of the Chicago Seven"
The Sunday Times reports that Cohen was 'persuaded by Steven Spielberg' and a $6 million cheque to take the role in the Aaron Sorkin-penned film based on a true story.
The film follows the seven defendants charged with conspiracy and inciting to riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Hoffman became a symbol of youth rebellion and radical activism during the 1970's and later committed suicide in 1989.
Spielberg's role on the project at this time is unsure - he's presently at work in post-production on "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and has commitments to film one of the three "Tintin" projects and his long-gestating Abraham Lincoln biopic.
