Empire Online reports that Angela Bassett and Keith David have just been added to the cast of the long shooting Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie married assassins targeting each other flick "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", an unusual move considering filming on the movie is just about over. Bassett will play the boss of Pitt's John Smith, while David will play the boss of Jolie's Jane Smith, who order their charges to kill each other.
The Doug Liman-directed project shot part of its production slate when it originally went before cameras early this year, the rest had to wait til Brad Pitt had finished his "Ocean's Twelve" commitments. That second leg of shooting has been taking its time it seems.
Not all has been rosy in regards to this production with rumours of script problems, budget over-runs and reshoots far more extensive than the norm. Combine that with this news of the addition of two big actors in key roles so late into proceedings and, lets just say the buzz being generated ain't exactly good.
