Never say there is a glut of superhero movies to comic book producers eager to earn money, because they're still going ahead with whatever sequels and new properties they can get their hands on.
First up the rumours of "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon being tied to the third "X-Men" movie may have grown into fact as a report today over at Production Weekly indicates Whedon has already signed on to direct the third film with production slated to begin in Vancouver in June 2005.
Meanwhile, Superhero Hype reports that we can "expect a major announcement from Avi Arad soon about who the new director for Hulk 2 will be. And it looks like they have called Michael France in again to write a draft script for the second movie that will feature the Hulk in a more superhero role"
Finally, Comic Book Resources reports that "Allegedly, DC's lord of the seas "Aquaman" is getting the cinematic treatment, courtesy of producers Alan and Peter Riche and writer Ben Grant. They want this Aquaman to be a goofy screwball comedy. Their thought was, 'since he's such a stupid character let's play that up.'" He then warned me that despite his source's reliability, this is still just a rumor for now, so caveat emptor and what not".
