Paramount has officially set a February 13th 2008 start of production date for "G.I. Joe" reports Variety.
The studio is apparently pleased with revisions done by scribe Stuart Beattie, is in talks with Aussie actor Sam Worthington to star.
Worthington remains committed to starring in the James Cameron-directed "Avatar" for Fox, but the studio is presently working out any potential scheduling conflicts.
Paramount intends to anchor the project as the studio's Summer 2009 tentpole.
