Andrzej Bartkowiak ("Romeo Must Die," "Cradle to the Grave") has been signed on to direct "Street Fighter," Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom's second attempt at a live-action feature film based on the popular video game reports Variety.
Unlike the 1994 Jean Claude Van Damme-led feature, this new version is focused on female fighter Chun Li and her journey for justice. Capcom has sold 25 million units in its "Street Fighter" series since it's initial release in 1987.
Justin Marks ("Voltron," "Super Max") wrote the script and is doing a polish. Production is set to begin early next year, with Fox to distribute.
