All sorts of action is happening news-wise on the small screen front in regards to some of the top rated or creative shows still left on the box. Here's the latest:

  <strong>"8 Simple Rules"</strong>
  James Garner isn't the only new recruit to the sitcom previously fronted by late funnyman John Ritter.  Comedian David Spade has also joined the cast as CJ, the nephew of Cate (Katey Segal) after success with a recent guest starring turn as the character. 

  <strong>"Alias"</strong>

Zap2It confirms that Quentin Tarantino will reprise his role of McKenas Cole in the episode "After Six" on February 14th. QT previously guest-starred as former SD-6 agent turned rogue Cole in the first season two-parter "The Box" and his voice was heard in last week's "Full Disclosure". His return for 'Six' however is more of a cameo than a major role like his 'Box' work.

  <strong>"Angel"      </strong>
  The 100th episode "Welcome Back" airing February 1st sees Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) awakening from the coma she fell into last season and is unhappy to learn of the gangs new employment at Wolfram &amp; Hart.   <strong>"Charmed"      </strong>

Those pesky wiccan girls will be returning with The WB having confirmed they're continuing with the show for another season (the seventh) staring in September. The show's current sixth season continues to do quite well for the network.

  <strong>"C.S.I.: New York"      </strong>

Its official, after great success with its first CSI spin-off "CSI: Miami", the network is set to do another CSI series, this one based in New York. 'Miami' was spun-off from characters who appeared in a special "CSI" episode, 'New York' will be spun-off from characters who appear in an upcoming May 'Miami' episode. Its unsure if the show will shoot in LA like the other two though as NY officials are hard at work trying to convince the creators to shoot in in the actual Big Apple.

  <strong>"Diaz Adventures?"      </strong>

You thought "The Simple Life" was scary - Mediasharx reports that Cameron Diaz will executive produce and star in a currently untitled MTV show that will story her "adventures" around the world with her friends, documenting how Diaz and her friends survive without personal assistants, and occasionally, indoor plumbing. Diaz will also have a very G.I. JOE "Knowing is Half the Battle" moment every episode, as she plans to address environmental issues specific to each region she visits.

  "<strong>Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital"</strong>

Four images from the Stephen King series that are in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly have gone online over at Lilja's Library.

  <strong>"Survivor 9 &amp; 10"      </strong>

CBS has given the greenlight to two more editions of the famous reality game show that started it all which means the show will stay on the air through til at least May 2005.
