Jet Li has been doing the rounds to promote Zhang Yimou’s historical epic "Hero" and spoke out about several of his upcoming projects to LatinoReview and IESB.
Unleashed (aka. Danny the Dog) About the Luc Besson film in which he costars with Morgan Freeman, Li says "It’s a totally different kind of martial arts film. My character, mentally is only ten years old. He’s physically very strong, tough. He beat up ten people in a few seconds, but mentally he’s like a dog. Morgan Freeman plays this character, piano tuner. He bring me back, become normal human, to understand what is love, what is friendship. At the end of the movie I become normal guy. He’s not a people that became a master, or save the city, or became a tough man, hero. It’s a different kind of genre".
The Green Hornet When asked if he was still involved in this superhero adaptation, "That's a long time ago. Five or six years ago, I heard about it. Before, it was a Universal movie but right now it changed to the other [studio, Miramax/Dimension] and I heard everybody talk about it, but I'm not attached right now. It really depends on the script. Each director will change the story. Seven years ago, maybe it was still The Green Hornet but what kind of story? Right now, the market has changed, the audience changed, maybe they changed the script".
Thanks to 'Kellvin' & 'Robert'.
