It's Rayne-ing Blood

USA Today reports that "Gandhi" Oscar-winner Ben Kingsley will play the vampire Kagan, the evil ruler of an army of bloodsuckers, in an upcoming film adaptation of the videogame "BloodRayne" starring T3 vixen Kristanna Loken. The game debuted in 2002 and a sequel is set for release this October.

Set in 18th century Romania, the film chronicles the adventures of the title character, a half-vampire, half-human who has the super strength of a monster but the emotions of a person.The $47 million movie is set to begin filming in Romania later this month from a script by Guinevere Turner ("American Psycho").

Meanwhile, Insomniac Mania ran an interview with the film's helmer Uwe Boll today that spills a lot of details on how the film will differ from the game. Just click the link for more details. New facts learned include that Michelle Rodriguez has joined the cast, only vampires will feature in the film, it'll definitely get an R rating, it's set 240 years after the game and deals with BloodRaynetryin to find three Talisman organs.
