Assorted Rumours Compendium

It's that time again for a look at a random swath of rumours, some more solid than others, that have popped up in the last few days.

Starsky & Hutch 2 Scooper 'Won'tSeeCatwoman' says "All systems are go for a 'Starsky & Hutch' sequel. No one's signed yet, but Stiller and Wilson are more than interested, and it's unlikely they won't join. The story was pitched by Todd Phillips, who will probably direct again, in addition to writting the screenplay with John O'Brien. No word on what the story is, except that it involves Starsky & Hutch going somewhere out of the original's setting (anybody else hoping for Japan?). Filming could start as soon as 1st quarter 2005, with WB hoping for an October release, but may end up pushing it back to Thanksgiving".

Shuttter Island The Boston Globe reports that "Mystic River" author Dennis Lehane revealed the other day that his first five books have been optioned by Ben Affleck. Lehane said Affleck had hoped to play private investigator Patrick Kenzie to Jennifer Lopez's Angela Gennaro. "Of course, that's not going to happen now". What will happen is the movie based on Lehane's latest best-seller, "Shutter Island." "Perfect Storm" director Wolfgang Petersen is set to direct.

I Could Be Me The Advertiser reports that Hugo Weaving will narrate the 80-minute film (its working title is I Could Be Me ) which will combine artist David Bromley's distinctive artwork with animation, acting, poetry, short stories and music. Singer/songwriter/guitarist Chris Altmann and illustrator Datsun Tran will also work on the project.

Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars 'Horny Devil' has some interesting BIG END SPOILER rumours on the upcoming mini-series: "The effects shots have been farmed out among several digital companies, but my friend was passed two jobs, of which one was the final shot from the series... contrary to Ben Browder's flippant remarks concerning 'baby, what baby?' in SFX Magazine, the final shot is shows Chrichton holding his much mooted baby (with Aeryn) and then tracks out through the window of Moya and back into space as they float away".

Neil Moritz's Next The quiet 'Bruckheimer', this producer is behind most action films with spunky casts out there and today 'Patrick' has an update on his forthcoming schedule: "He was doing "Superman" but pulled out, instead he's doing "Cage" and finishing up "Devour". He's also working a lot with The Rock apparently. He's got "Johnny Bravo" in the works for him to star in, "Spy Hunter" for him to star in (John Woo is directing) and "Dirty Harry Returns" which is being written as a Rock vehicle too"

Thanks to 'KarlChilders', 'WSC', 'Pat' & 'Jeff'.
