Global & Happy Controversies

They're two productions in early stages but rumours are already swirling that both have hit some rocky ground.

First up 'Silver Boy' heard a disturbing if true rumour about "Global Frequency", The WB's big new action TV series coming in a few months:

"The producer/showrunner of the upcoming comic based TV series Global Frequency has apparently been battling with WB Network executives for weeks in an attempt to get Amber Benson cast as Kate, a new role he created for the series. He has lost the battle, as of today. The WB allegedly refuses to allow him to cast Benson in the role. Why? Apparently it's because Amber played a lesbian on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If so, that's not just wrong but confusing (after all she played the character for two seasons with them before)".

Meanwhile, AICN ran a not too flattering report on George Miller's CG animated project "Happy Feet" project the other day and 'BJ' has a follow-up:

"The article pretty much says that it's the biggest disaster to ever befall mankind. Sad as this is, I think he might be right. I've had a lot of dealings with Animal Logic over the years, and every indication is that this is might be the one to finally put them under. Everything about this thing is (at least from what I hear) ill-conceived, ill-planned and ill-managed. This might all be fine at the end of the day if the movie were good, but it isn't. The script - notions of taste aside - pretty much sucks. I think someone convinced George that it was time to jump on the all-CG bandwagon. No-one told him to get another couple of drafts of the script done. Morale there is apparently at an all-time low".

Thanks to 'Gustavo'.
