May 6th: "In a film financing first, European Web conglom Tiscali is dipping its toe into the movie business. While its rivals are cutting back their spending on online content, the Dutch arm of the Pan-European Internet service provider will shortly announce plans to commission a movie about the assassination of the controversial Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn. It will premiere on the Web before going on theatrical release..." (more info). November: "Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights to Gregory Harrison's psychological thriller "November," starring Courteney Cox, which premiered in the dramatic competition at this year's Sundance Film Festival. The Hobbit: "With Sony apparently unable to construct a final offer for MGM, it's looking increasingly likely that Time Warner will swoop in and grab the prize. Bagging the Lion would give Time Warner a nice little bonus -- worldwide theatrical and television rights to J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit." The Standford Prison Experiment: "Maverick Films is producing a film based on the infamous 1971 Stanford prison experiment, with Christopher McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects") producing and supervising a script by Tim Talbott. McQuarrie has an eye to direct. In the study on the psychology of prison life, a group of undergrads assumed the roles of prisoners and guards. Within 24 hours the guards resorted to psychological torture and humiliation -- including sexual degradation -- of the inmates, who in turn staged an uprising, instigating more terror..." (more info). Untitled Lohan Project: "Nick Cannon is teaming up with Lindsay Lohan for an untitled romantic comedy for Revolution Studios. Tom Brady will write and direct the feature, which was pitched to Revolution by Cannon and Michael Goldman. Deuce Bigalow 2: A behind the scenes clip from the Rob Schneider sequel comedy is up at IFilm. DVD News: Details and art is up for I, Robot, Spider-Man 2, Saved, Godsend, A Slipping Down Life, Ella Enchanted, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Princess Diaries: Special Edition, Halloween: The Boxset, Van Helsing & Elf. Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars: The Sci-fi Channel has finally put a webpage online for the mini-series. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner: The Bernie Mac/Ashton Kutcher comedy remake will open June 10th, 2005. Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire: Shots of Robert Pattinson who plays Cedric Diggory are up at The BBC. Meanwhile, HPANA reports that the John Williams Fan Network is citing two "very reliable" sources in their report that the composer may not be able to score "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" due to scheduling conflicts Hellboy (DVD): More details on the two-disc edition is up at Sony Pictures. Kalamazoo: The official site for the Bruce Campbell flick is now up. Raise Your Voice: Footage from the Hilary Duff flick is up at The Trades. The Crow: Wicked Prayer: The film is currently at the optical house in the process of having special effects added/finalized. This process will continue into August, so there is no way the film will be premiering anywhere in August as earlier reports indicated according to A Boy & His Bird.
