Mike Allred's highly successful "Madman" comic was option by Hollywood director Robert Rodriguez a few years ago but there hasn't been much movement on the project - until now.
In an interview with the director, Rodriguez told <a href="http://www.ugo.com/channels/filmTv/sciFi/article.asp?articleID=10736§ionID=25" target="_blank">UGO</a> that "we're right in there right now actually", with production likely tobegin "later in the year"
"I like that project a lot, [I] liked Mike Allred's world. It was very similar to the kind of world that I like - that sort of larger-than-life fantasy world is what I really liked about his stuff, so that's why I optioned it"
Rodriguez was asked whether he would be interested in bringing other comic characters to the silver screen, to which replied, "No, not really" as he prefers to create his own characters.Thanks to 'Antoine' & 'Tim'
