Uwe Boll has made a name for himself in recent years with the likes of "House of the Dead," "Alone in the Dark," and "Bloodrayne" - widely considered some of the worst films to hit celluloid since... well ever.
Now the man's latest effort has an opening scene that will bring pleasure to Islamic terrorists in the same way that the police interrogation scene in "Basic Instinct" caused a generation of males to thank the makers of VCRs for including a freeze-frame option.
"Postal" is Boll's attempt at shock comedy. Adapted from the 1997 video game, it's essentially a really bad taste comedy essentially attacking American culture as it is right now - with one aspect being Islamic terrorism. Various trailers so far over at YouTube show that it may overtake "Freddy Got Fingered" on the 'most awful comedies ever made' list.
However it's the opening scene that apparently is going to really get people talking which plays out the actual plane crashes of 9/11 for laughs. A glimpse of that scene has gone up at BollBashers and astonishingly the visual effects are quite convincing. This is a $20 million budget film after all.
No word yet on a release date, but expect the picketers to line-up early. boll recently talked about the project's status to Skewed and Reviewed.
