Invisible Eden: "Aurora Prods. and the Helpern Co. have optioned "Invisible Eden: A Story of Love and Murder on Cape Cod," with Agatha Dominick adapting. Written by Maria Flook, "Invisible Eden" is the true story of Christa Worthington. Two years ago, the 46-year-old fashion writer was found dead on the floor of her Truro, Mass. cottage, stabbed in the chest. Her homicide was the first in Truro in more than 30 years..." (more info). It Should Happen to You: "Columbia Pictures has set a remake of the 1954 comedy "It Should Happen to You" that will be turned into a starring vehicle for Kate Hudson. "The Princess Diaries" scribe Gina Wendkos is set to write the script. The remake will be a contempo romantic comedy about a young woman who comes to New York determined to find fame..." (more info). Open Road: "Disney-based Jerry Bruckheimer Films is searching the streets of Los Angeles and New York for African-American male basketball players to be cast in the upcoming feature film "Glory Road," which starts shooting this summer. "Glory Road," to be directed by commercials helmer James Gartner, tells the true story of college basketball coach Don Haskins, who changed history for the NCAA when his all-black lineup of players won the championship in 1966. The Corpse Bride: "Already booked to play Willy Wonka in the Burton-directed "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," Depp has just made a deal to provide the lead voice in "Corpse Bride," the stop-motion animated film Burton is co-directing with Michael Johnson and producing with Allison Abbate. Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson, Albert Finney, Richard Grant, Joanna Lumley and Christopher Lee will provide character voices for the latter film, being made in London simultaneously with "Charlie"..." (more info). The Northmen: "Renny Harlin, who reshot "Exorcist: The Beginning" for Morgan Creek Prods., will helm "The Northmen" for the company. Universal Pictures will distribute the film domestically and Morgan Creek Intl. will handle overseas. The historical epic concerns two Viking brothers, heirs to their clan's throne, who both fall in love with a kidnapped English princess. Sean O'Keefe and Will Staples are writing the screenplay. American Gun: "Nikki Reed, who co-penned and starred in Fox Searchlight's teen drama "thirteen," is negotiating to land a role in another edgy indie feature, IFC Films' "American Gun,". Balls of Courage: "Spoofmeisters Jim Abrahams and Pat Proft have set up "Balls of Courage" at Universal Pictures. The two will write the screenplay, which Abrahams will direct. Hustle & Flow: "Stax recording artist Isaac Hayes has joined the cast of "Hustle & Flow," John Singleton's first independently financed and produced feature. DVD News: Details & art are up for Fahrenheit 9/11, Soul Plane, Resident Evil: DE & Twisted. Harr Potter 6: It's official, according to JK Rowling's official site - Book Six is entitled "Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince". Scooby Doo 3: Moviehole reports that actor Matthew Lillard, Director Raja Gosnell and writer James Gunn won't return. Spider-Man 2: Roitten Tomatoes reports that the sequel has received a perfect grade from major print critics. Meanwhile, Sony and IMAX will soon announce plans to distribute an IMAX version on either Friday, July 16, 2004 or Friday, July 23 depending on how soon the prints can be made.
