Brother to Brother: "Wolfe will distribute Sundance Film Festival winner "Brother to Brother" in North America, with an October theatrical bow. Directed by Rodney Evans, pic is the story of a young gay black writer who finds inspiration when he meets a surviving poet from the Harlem Renaissance..." (more info). Come Closer: "Dimension Films has acquired feature rights to the Sara Gran novel "Come Closer," with Hossen Amini ("The Four Feathers") to adapt. Psychological thriller is the story of a young architect who may be the victim of demonic possession. Soho Press published the book last August. Lie With Me: "ThinkFilm has boarded director Clement Virgo's "Lie With Me," picking up North American distribution and retaining all international rights. Sexually charged drama started shooting Wednesday in Toronto. Adapted by Virgo and author Tamara Faith Berger from the latter's erotic novel of the same name, film centers on two young people who try to avoid the entrapment of middle-class relationships through purely casual sexual encounters but are confronted with the possibility of love when they unexpectedly connect, Eric Balfour and Laura Lee Smith star..." (more info). Sin City: "Michael Clarke Duncan has landed two movie gigs. Duncan recently reported to the "Sin City" set in Austin, Texas, to lense a role in the Dimension pic, directed by Robert Rodriguez. Superman: "After two aborted takeoffs, "Superman" is moving toward a late 2004 production start, reflecting Warner Bros.' fierce appetite for additional tentpoles. The studio is negotiating with Neal Moritz and Gilbert Adler to produce the film. The picture has not been greenlit, nor is McG set to direct, although he did test six actors last week for the role. Antarctica: "Frank Marshall, one of the busiest producers in town, is in negotiations to put on his director hat for the Walt Disney Co.'s adventure drama "Antarctica." Charlie Wilson's War: ""The West Wing" creator Aaron Sorkin will write an adaptation of "Charlie Wilson's War," a nonfiction book by George Crile for Universal. "War" is the story of the CIA's covert operation in Afghanistan to arm the mujahedeen. It was engineered by Charlie Wilson, a charismatic, womanizing, liberal Texas congressman who teamed up with a rogue CIA operative named Gust Avrakatos. The two manipulated Congress, the CIA and a host of foreign governments in order to assist the Afghan rebels in their fight against the Soviets in the 1980s..." (more info). Jamie's Kitchen: "Michael Kuhn's Qwerty Films has hired Kyle Long to turn the hit British TV series "Jamie's Kitchen," starring celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, aka the Naked Chef, into a feature film. The series charted Oliver's efforts to train a group of underprivileged youngsters to staff the kitchen of his first restaurant, Fifteen. The film is not designed as a biopic, and it will shift the action from London to New York. Oliver's character is being rewritten as an American, who has yet to be cast..." (more info). Lucky 13: "Jeremy Piven, Jami Gertz, Garry Marshall, Doris Roberts, Daryl Hannah and Cheryl Hines are teaming to star in the indie family comedy "Lucky 13." Access Hollywood, which broke the news, did not mention what kind of role he may play in the sequel. Project Runway: Heidi Klum was interviewed on Boston radio station WZLX 100.7 FM today about her new reality show, a competition for up-and-coming fashion designers by Miramax and the Bravo network.
