Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow "Overall this movie is going to be the one people are talking about. Geeks across the world are going to think this movie is made just for them, as there are a plethora of numerical, visual and literal nods to many masters of their fields, a full on hardon for Sci-Fi's champions of the page and screen. I only hope Paramount backs this movie with a full campaign. As kids will love it, if they just get to the theater, Adults will love it as it makes them feel young again. I can't wait till you see it so you can tell me your thoughts..." (full review)
Dodgeball ""Dodgeball" is silly, outlandish, and an all-around good time at the movies. Blessed with a remarkable comedic cast and set in the arena of the world's goofiest game, the film is a treat to watch. But the real fun is watching Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn go head-to-head, creating this tsunami of laughs as they go. It may not be high art, but "Dodgeball" is uproariously funny, and is sure to be a future comedy classic..." (full review) "I'm a big fan of both Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn, but unlike their last comedic collaboration, STARSKY & HUTCH, not much about this movie was "talking to me" before I saw it. As it turns out, the former film didn't turn out to be as funny or inventive as I had hoped, and the same can be said of this movie, which despite sporting a decent premise and a few funny moments, doesn't really come through in terms of major laughs, energy or memorable sequences. This is an easy movie to watch-it doesn't demand much from the viewer and it is sure to provide most people looking for mindless gags (lots of people getting hit in the face and nuts by plastic balls) with some guffaws..." The Terminal "After spending the last few years with hard-edged sci-fi and character dramas, Steven Spielberg returns to the warmer side of life with "The Terminal". Supported by a terrific lead performance by Tom Hanks, along with a stunning production design, "The Terminal" is reliable, funny, adult-oriented entertainment, and a return to form for the world-class filmmaker..." (full review) "THE TERMINAL is a film that everyone but the most cynical will enjoy, as it has just the right mix of humor, drama and warm feelings to stay with you for days, and perhaps Oscar nominations, to come..." (full review) "This film is the very definition of "light" entertainment. It looks pretty, it feels pretty, it acts pretty and unless you're going to call it on a number of its far-fetched scenarios, you're likely to appreciate it as an "old school" comedic romance that will both frivolously delight and entertain you and yours for a couple of hours. It's not going to change your life, it's not going to engrain in you moments of cinematic history, but it should offer a few chuckles, a few romantic interludes, a few interesting character interactions and yeah...even a touch of sentimentalism..." Fahrenheit 9/11 "Fahrenheit 9/11 is a brilliant documentary in every possible way. It runs the entire gamut of human emotion. It is funny, harrowing, despicable, grotesque, heartbreaking, shameless, and informative all at once. Moore succeeds in thoroughly grabbing your attention. He doesn't waste time with rhetoric or triviality. The film has a focus and he never deviates from it..." (full review)
