Rocky To Rule Over Christmas

"Rocky Balboa" looks to have some punch to him this Christmas with the film's Wednesday debut landing an impressive $6.2 million opening day.

Written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, the sixth installment in the franchise centers on the Italian Stallion's return after a 16-year hiatus for yet another comeback.

Figures are tracking well for both it and Ben Stiller comedy "A Night at the Museum" this weekend, though Matthew McConaughey football drama "We Are Marshall" looks like it will struggle to find an audience.

New Line's "The Nativity Story", which has utterly bombed in many overseas markets, overcame a soft domestic opening and has been holding well (especially mid-week). Combined with the holiday it looks set to make a bit of a comeback.
