First Elizabeth Sequel Photos

There were a half dozen or so great films in 1998, and to me one them was Shekhar Kapur's "Elizabeth". That film was a beautifully shot, very dark take on the rise to power of Queen Elizabeth the First and featured a stellar casting line-up including Cate Blanchett, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Fiennes, Daniel Craig, Richard Attenborough, Emily Mortimer, Vincent Cassel, Sir John Gielguld, and most notably Geoffrey Rush in one of his best roles to date as the Queen's personal protector & assassin.

  Now,

Kino Govno has posted the first two official stills from "The Golden Age", the sequel to "Elizabeth" that was shot in the UK last year and is scheduled for release sometime next year worldwide. This film follows Elizabeth in a later part of her life, namely her love affair with Sir Walter Raleigh.

A few months back some set photos went up at Murph's Place showing off Clive Owen in full make-up and costume as Raleigh, and a few of Blanchett but these new stills today are the first high quality official photos from the production (you can see Rush as Walsingham in the back of one of them). Expect more soon and click the photos below to check out larger versions.
