Johnson Talks Plans For HBO's Preacher

By Garth Franklin Thursday December 7th 2006 01:16AM

"Ghost Rider" and "Daredevil" helmer Mark Steven Johnson recently spoke at length with Newsarama about his upcoming HBO series based on the beloved "Preacher" comic title.

Amongst the facts revealed are that seasons will consist of twelve episodes each, will be rated TV-MA or higher, and the budget should be pretty good - Johnson saying the project is "not something you make on the cheap"

It's unsure whether he or Howard Deutch is directing, the decision will be made once the scripting is further along. The show will adapt the 66 issues of comics, the Saint of Killers mini-series, and several one-shots like Good Ol' Boys and Tall in the Saddle.

Finally, the Digital Intermediate Process will be used to create the look and color palette for the series whilst some of Garth Ennis' unused Preacher ideas might also make it into the show.
