Stephen King and Peter Straub's fantasy adventure tale "The Talisman," has been given a greenlight as a six-hour limited series slated to premiere on TNT in Summer 2008.

The story charts the adventure of a twelve year old boy named Jack Sawyer who sets out to save his terminally ill mother by finding an artifact called 'The Talisman'.

His adventure has him and a werewolf companion constantly jumping between our dimension and 'The Territories', a parallel world where people have a twin counterpart whose major life events co-incide with the same person on Earth.

Production Weekly reports that Ehren Kruger will adapt the King/Straub novel written in 1984, "Talisman" marks the first collaboration between bestselling authors King and Straub who penned a follow-up book entitled "Black House".
