After great success with the currently playing "Volver", Penelope Cruz and director Pedro Almodovar will re-team again for what he hopes to be his next film reports the trades.
"El Piel Que Habito" (The Skin I Live In) will be a departure from his usual style. An adaptation of the 1995 novel "Mygale" by Thierry Jonquet, that book tells of the hideous revenge a plastic surgeon exacts on men who have raped his daughter.
The film version though will be quite different, with only one scene from the novel being retained. Almodovar announced his plans in Warsaw where "Volver" had great success at the European Film Awards on Saturday night.
A final version of the screenplay has yet to be finished, until that happens it is unsure when filming will begin though a decision will be made around February or March. Antonio Banderas was tipped for the male lead, but the role has yet to be cast.
