Sandler on Spanglish & Yard

MTV News took time out with comedian Adam Sandler on the set of "Spanglish" the other day to talk about the language-barrier comedy that's the first film from James L. Brooks ("Terms of Endearment", "Broadcast News") since 1997's "As Good as it Gets".

Sandler says "When people ask me [what 'Spanglish' is about], I just say, 'You gotta just see it,' I don't know, 'Here's the script, why don't you read it?'. It's a family ... it's about a family ... it's about a woman from Mexico and her journey to America. And she's a mom and she ends up working at my family's house, and it's just everybody's lives intertwined. It's a pretty intense, cool movie and ... hopefully I'll deliver, 'cause Jim Brooks is a great man. I don't wanna let him down. So I'm working hard on that".

In between shooting, Sandler has been working on his fifth album which he'll be out promoting mid-late July, and soon after begins work on the remake of "The Longest Yard". The actor/comedian brought up the issue of Snoop Dogg who's circling the project right now - "Snoop is busy, he's doing a tour, so we don't know if he can do it, but we want him to do it. I do love Snoop. He was funny on 'SNL.' ... So if he can fit it in, he's gonna do it. It's gonna be a comedy, hopefully. I know Rock's gonna be funny in it. It's gonna be everything. It's a great movie, and we're just gonna try to do it justice".
