After sitting on a shelf for five years, Wisit Sasanatieng's Thai action film "Tears of the Black Tiger" will be finally released in the U.S. by Magnolia Pictures reports the trades.

The studio picked up all domestic rights to the acclaimed "Tiger" from Miramax, which bought the rights to the film in North America, Latin America and South America after the Cannes Film Festival in 2001.

The spaghetti Western-style "Tiger" tracks Dum, a gunslinger who falls for a high-society woman but finds his gang and her father are set on keeping them apart.

The film was digitally tinted with pastel colors, giving it a unique look. The film will get a January release in New York, followed by a platform rollout in February and March.
