Highly acclaimed but ratings poor CW detective series "Veronica Mars" has been green-lit for seven more episodes, bringing its total third-season run up to 20 rather than the customary 22 episodes reports TV.Com.
Mars' fate was uncertain last season during The WB and UPN merger. The CW ordered 13 episodes of Mars, taking a wait-and-see attitude with the ratings of the fan favorite.
Now, CW sees that Mars has improved only 5 percent in network's target demographic meaning "Mars" will likely finish the season in exactly the same place as it did last time - wondering if it will be canceled.
