The novel revolves around Robert FitzRoy, the captain of the HMS Beagle, and the relationship the two developed.
The movie will trace the two men's 30-year relationship and their debate over the theory of evolution.
The film is based on the book "Evolution's Captain: The Dark Fate of the Man Who Sailed Charles Darwin Around the World," written by Peter Nichols.
