Trade Breaks: Einstein, Nativity, Lahti

"Paramount Pictures has acquired screen rights to the Joshua Foer book "Moonwalking With Einstein" and will develop it as a potential directing vehicle for "The School of Rock" & "Nacho Libre" scribe Mike White. Foer is a young journalist who discovered there was a world of competitive memorizers, Foer spent a year learning the techniques and became a competitor who won both the U.S. and World Memory Championships. It is unclear whether White will adapt the book which gets published in 2009..." (full details)

"New Line birth-of-Jesus pic "The Nativity Story" will world preem at the Vatican on Nov. 26 with Pope Benedict XVI expected to attend. Italo distrib Eagle Pictures said the Catherine Hardwicke-helmed film will unspool in Vatican City's Paul VI Hall. "The pope has been invited, and we are 99% sure he will come since the Vatican has given the film its seal of approval," an Eagle Pictures rep said..." (full details)
