Latest Superhero Movies Talk

Activity continues in this revived genre in regards to upcoming movies based on two of the three biggest properties in all the superhero comic canon:

Superman Superman-V reports that screentests have begun and six actors are testing for the title role next week. Test deals are being finalised as we speak. Who are the secret six? We don't know right now but recently rumoured Jake Gyllenhaal is not one of them. That fits in with comments Gyllenhaal recently made saying "nobody has talked to me about that. I'm available if they want me". It also looks like Photon VFX and Giant Killer Robots are doing effects for the movie, spearheaded by ESC Entertainment. Production now looks to be aiming to begin before year's end which would put it on track for Summer 2006.

Spider-Man 2 & 3 'Beach Bum' weighs in with a scoop about potential villains in a third "Spider-Man" "A friend at Sony tells me that the studio is raring to push forward with Spider-Man 3 - they've already got a release date and all apparently - but Sam Raimi is taking his time deciding who the next villain/s will be in it, and the company pretty much wants to know now (anyone else get the feeling these guys are more interested in pre-planning the toy line?). Franco's Green Goblin/HobG is the most likely choice, but it's Raimi who's a little unsure whether that character would make for anything exciting (he thought the same about Venom who was been discussed for it earlier). Got to agree there".

Thanks to 'Jeff'.
