Focus Features is set to handle international sales and quite likely domestic distribution on "City of God" director Fernando Meirelles' next film, "Blindness" says The Hollywood Reporter.
"Blindness," adapted by Don McKellar from the novel by Jose Saramago, is a dramatic thriller about a sudden outbreak of blindness that envelops a city.
An accelerated government quarantine spurs a small group of people to fight back.
The studio handled the same position on Meirelles last film, the highly acclaimed "The Constant Gardener". "Blindness" will get a worldwide release throughout 2008.
