Donald Sutherland has joined the cast of Warner Bros. adventure comedy "Fool's Gold" currently filming in Australia says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story revolves around a husband (Matthew McConaughey) and wife (Kate Hudson) who have spent eight years searching for a lost treasure and are on the brink of bankruptcy and divorce.
Suddenly a clue to the payday surfaces, forcing the couple to reunite to find their fortune.
Sutherland will portray Nigel, a billionaire who invites the couple to join him on his boat in the hunt for the treasure.
Kenneth Lonergan rewrote the original screenplay by John Claflin and Daniel Zelman. Andy Tennant is directing.
