Former Rhythm & Hues executives Lorne Lanning and Sherry McKenna, the creators of the successful "Oddworld" game series, will team with John Williams' Vanguard Animation to develop the CG animated sci-fi action thriller "Citizen Siege" reports the trades.
In "Citizen Siege," Lanning and McKenna are creating a new universe where current global conditions are extrapolated into a frightening near future where democracy has all but disintegrated under the rule of global corporatism.
The hero is an expatriate who finds himself ensnared in a nightmarish credit racket that leaves him 'repossessed'.
Lanning will make his directorial debut with this project, while McKenna will executive produce.
The pair's Oddworld Entertainment will retain the videogame rights and are looking for a publisher to create a tie-in game that could be released simultaneously.
