Djimon Hounsou is attached to star in the Sylvain White-directed drama "The Trunk" reports the trades.
The story follows an inner-city musical prodigy (Hounsou) on the verge of breaking out of his harsh ghetto existence who discovers that some of his jealous closest friends will do anything to keep him down.
Brian White, Boris Kodjoe and Thomas Krestchmann are attached as co-stars, with filming scheduled to begin in December in Oakland. Joseph A. Elmore Jr. penned the script.
