Crowe & Jackman's Overflow

The Australian reports that our two biggest 'hunky male' actor exports are teaming for a project from the same company who near three decades ago brought the classic "The Man From Snowy River" to the world.

Banjo Patterson's classic poem "Clancy of the Overflow" is to be made into a big budget feature film, and Russell Crowe has already been approached about starring. The film will be produced by DHM Entertainment, which is owned by Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-lee Furness, and Edgley International.

Producer Simon Wincer says Clancy was a mysterious figure and so is playing up that angle in the casting stakes - "We can't say we haven't talked to Hugh (Jackman) because we have and obviously his company is involved in this. But we also had words with Russell Crowe and there are other actors who have expressed interest – it's a dream role".

Executive Producer Michael Edgley said the the film would have a budget of a little over USD $25 million. Filming will take place across NSW, Queensland and Victoria and is expected to begin in the second half of next year.
