Production on NBC's action show "Kidnapped" will cease once the show's 13th episode has been filmed, making it the first show of the new season to get the axe.
Despite generally good reviews the series has struggled in the ratings. The good news is show creator Jason Smilovic will wrap up the main storyline of the serial drama so there won't be any threads left hanging.
Meanwhile NBC's new superhero drama "Heroes" has been given a full-season pickup from the network after its strong debut and a second week which saw ratings hold steady.
The show, along with NBC's other new efforts "Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip" and "Friday Night Lights", all received critical laudits but "Heroes" is the only one so far that has hit it big in the ratings.
"Heroes" is also one of the few shows that is receiving far more acclaim for its post-pilot episodes, whereas others like "Studio 60" are already being derided for a drop in quality.
