Like more than three quarters of the men across the world, Colin Farrell managed to escape the unkindest cut of all at birth, but now it seems the scissors may have finally caught up with him and chopped out one of the biggest reasons why many were planning to see his new film - the promise of full-frontal nudity.
The touching drama "A Home at the End of the World" is already well-reported to contain a scene of the Irish one going the full monty whilst walking down a hallway. Farrell approved the scene initially, shot it, and talk of it came up on numerous articles about the film and from audience-goers who attended one or two sneak peeks of the flick in recent weeks.
Now, just this past weekend, that approval looks to have been recinded.
"Home" isn't the only one going tame on the male nudity, seems conservatism is continuing to creep back into filmmaking fields again even in this day and age when breasts are finally making a slight comeback in cinema (albeit marginalised to crappy teen comedies). Ang Lee's "Brokeback Mountain", the Heath Ledger & Jake Gyllenhaal led story of cowboys in love about to begin shooting in the mid-West, is apparently going to be far less 'raunchy' than some expected.
The book on which it's based depicts some very graphic sex scenes between the two men, not so in the film which will have a more restrained style to it much like Lee's earlier work in "The Wedding Banquet" and "Sense and Sensibility". A short quick several second sodomy scene and a quick kiss between the leads is all that's expected to grace the screen according to insiders. Those wanting more action will probably have to settle with the undoubted porn clone rip-off that'll result if the movie hits - "Bareback Mountain".
