Todd Phillips' production company has set up the untitled Russian brides project, which was put into turnaround by Miramax, at Warner Bros. Pictures reports Variety.
Based on David Benioff's 2002 article "Goodbye to Romance," published in Arena magazine, storyline revolves around a group of American men who travel through Russia searching for brides.
Another writer will likely be brought in to work on an early script by E. Max Frye. Phillips landed a first-look deal with Warners earlier this year and could ultimately sign on to direct the project.
