"During "The Departed" press junket in New York, Matt Damon was asked whether he had been approached to play Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams re-invention of the "Star Trek" franchise. Damon was "quick to say he hadn't heard anything about it. His publicist added that Abrams was joking when he said he would choose Matt to play Kirk and it's nothing serious"..." (full details)

"Lily Tomlin is set to topline "12 Miles of Bad Road," created by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, ("Designing Women") about a wealthy Dallas real estate family located in Dallas, Texas. Tomlin will play the family's matriarch Amelia Shakespeare. Michael Engler is directing the pilot, scheduled to begin production next month in LA. "The "Borat" movie will be the first featured presentation of MySpace's international screening series Black Carpet.
