All the Women I've Loved: "Gotham-based City Lights Pictures, a division of City Lights Media Group, has acquired motion picture rights to Byron Harmon's debut novel "All the Women I've Loved." City Light principal Jack Fisher will direct, with prexy Danny Fisher producing along with Joe and Jack Fisher. Semi-autobiographical romantic comedy concerns LeBaron Brown, a black man living in Washington, D.C., who seeks therapy after his girlfriend ends their three-year relationship..." (more info). A Rhinestone Alibi: "Paramount Pictures has hired scribe April Blair to pen "A Rhinestone Alibi," based on the true tale of a college-based alibi service that started at the U. of Arizona. Comedy centers on a Texas student with a mind for business who finds herself short on tuition. Her solution is to build an on-campus empire providing alibis for friends..." (more info). Aztec: "After going on a "Eurotrip," the Montecito Picture Co. plans to travel back in time, acquiring Jeff Schaffer and Ted Humphrey's action pitch "Aztec." Set in 1519 at the height of the Aztec civilization, project revolves around a slave named Tez who plays a brutal ball game called Ullamalitzli, in which the loser is sacrificed. Tez and his team must play the game and try to stay alive long enough to orchestrate a plan to escape the capital city of Tenochtitlan with a fortune in gold..." (more info). Marlene Dietrich: "DreamWorks will turn Marlene Dietrich's story into a star vehicle for Gwyneth Paltrow. The studio has optioned Maria Riva's memoir "Marlene Dietrich," and has secured cooperation from Dietrich's estate. Jess Money will write the script and produce with Paltrow and David Nicksay. There is no firm timetable on the project, which is just as well because Paltrow has taken a screen sabbatical following the birth of her first child with her husband, Coldplay front man Chris Martin..." Hill will direct from a script he co-wrote with his production partner and longtime collaborator David Giler. Lovewrecked: "Amanda Bynes has inked to topline the romantic comedy "Lovewrecked" for helmer Randal Kleiser. Shooting starts next month in the Caribbean. Sky High: "Walt Disney Pictures has found an up-and-coming superhero in Michael Angarano, who will star in "Sky High," a superhero teen comedy movie that Mike Mitchell is directing and Andrew Gunn is producing. The story follows Jeremy, the son of superheroes Commander Stronghold and Jetstream, and his trials and tribulations of being a regular teenager and a possible future hero.
