Think you'd make a good DVD reviewer? Well how about giving it a go right here on Dark Horizons.
With news and other work keeping me busy, I've decided the time has come to hand the reigns of the DVD reviews section over to people with more time for the work - namely the readers of DH.
Right now I'm seeking people who'd regularly like to contribute DVD reviews to Dark Horizons.
You should have good writing skills which match the tone of the site - objective, professional, not quick to label something with full or zero marks, and able to truly dissect a film and point out the good and bad aspects and clearly explain what worked and what didn't for you.
Reviews must be for titles released in the United States (ie. Region 1). UK and certain foreign titles can be included so long as they're only for titles NOT released as yet in the US.
The reviews MUST BE for DVD releases no latter than one month after the current day (eg. today is September 12th, so reviews for titles released before August 12th will not be included). Pre-release titles are especially welcome.
If this sounds like you? Send along your details in an e-mail with the subject line 'DVD Review Contribution' to garth@darkhorizons.com and more notably some samples of your work. Make sure to read the site's privacy policy (link at base of this page) first to understand the permissions involved with material sent in.
The better the quality of the writing and the more reviews sent, the better your chances. Similarly those already with accredited work and/or access to pre-release samples and such will be given higher consideration.
To all those wanting to help out, I appreciate it and look forward to hearing from you all.
