Patrick Wilson ("The Phantom of the Opera", "Hard Candy", "Little Children") has signed on for Focus Features' "Evening," the bigscreen adaptation of Susan Minot's bestselling novel reports Variety.
Story centers on a 65-year-old cancer patient (Vanessa Redgrave) who reflects on a weekend in her youth when she met the love of her life (Wilson), as her two daughters try to come to terms with her impending death.
Lajos Koltai will direct. Claire Danes, Toni Collette and Hugh Dancy round out the cast. Minot and Michael Cunningham adapted the novel and will exec produce the pic.
