The Weinstein Co. has signed a one-year, first-look deal with L.A.-based Underground Films with an eye to turning out comedies. First announced project that Underground will produce for TWC is "Rising Son," a comedy pitch from scribe Martin Sweeney which revolves around a young American who proposes to his Japanese-American girlfriend just as they are traveling to visit her estranged family.
