After Dark & Gold Coast Film Festivals

Whilst the industry is talking about the film festivals Venice or Toronto or Rome right now, genre fans are gearing up for two more that are underway.

First up is the Gold Coast "Film Fantastic" festival in Australia kicks off tomorrow and continues through the weekend. Amongst the films having their local premieres are "Pan's Labyrinth", "Tideland", "Stormbreaker", "The Descent", "Beowulf and Grendel", "District B13", "Renaissance", "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance", "Tokyo Express", "Princess", "Seven Swords", "Monster House" and "Nacho Libre".

Meanwhile on the other side of the world, the Toronto After Dark Film Festival is set to take place October 20th-24th in the Canadian city. The festival aims to showcase cutting-edge new sci-fi, horror and fantasy cinema from around the world.

Amongst the titles being screened: "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon", "Mad Cowgirl", "Re-Cycle", "Shinobi", "SL8N8", "Night of the Living Dorks" and "Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell".
