Director Ken Bowser ("Easy Riders, Raging Bulls") and scribe Dean Craig ("Caffeine", "Death at a Funeral") have teamed with Palm-Star Entertainment to develop Peter Biskind's 2004 "Down and Dirty Pictures: Miramax, Sundance and the Rise of Independent Film" tome into a feature-length comedy reports Variety.

Bowser is aboard to direct and Craig signed to adapt the story which tracks the rise of independent film starting in the 1990s thanks to such films as "Pulp Fiction" and "sex, lies, and videotape."

Harvey Weinstein and Robert Redford, who figure prominently throughout the book, are credited with playing a key part in the success of the genre, though both are criticized for their personal dealings.
