Sony has greenlit monster comedy "Hotel Transylvania", a third feature from its Sony Pictures Animation division reports Variety.
"Hotel Transylvania" is about a group of classic monsters including Frankenstein, the Mummy, Dracula and the Werewolf who are hiding out in a hotel on the outskirts of Transylvania now that 21st century technology has seemingly made them irrelevant.
Anthony Stacchi and David Feiss, co-director and head of story, respectively, on SPA's first film "Open Season," will helm. Don Rhymer ("Surf's Up," "Big Momma's House") is penning the screenplay. A release in 2009 is being looked at.
