The original "The Wicker Man" director Robin Hardy is going after LeAnn Rimes to star in the film adaptation of his book "Cowboys for Christ" reports Suicide Girls.

Shooting is aiming to begin in February or March of next year with Christopher Lee and Vanessa Redgrave set to star. Sean Astin wanted to play one of the roles, but "I think he feels that he's too old because the cowboys are supposed to be about 19 or 20 and Sean is in his early 30's" says Hardy.

Hardy adds "My main concern is finding the right person for Beth. So I am proposing to go and do the rounds in Texas and Nashville and LA to see if we can get LeAnn Rimes. But I think she's going to be too expensive for us so we'll try and find somebody who's on the same trajectory".

The story is Hardy's sequel/re-imagining of the original "Wicker Man" tale about a small Scottish community of pagan worshippers where unsuspecting victims are lured to an unpleasant fate.
